The Tory Touch seeks to provide financial and material assistance to artists and non-profit organizations who strive to build better communities through their work.

Our goals

  1. To provide financial grants to help facilitate the presentation of visual and performance art in our communities.

  2. To provide financial grants to help facilitate awareness of and our place in our natural environment.

  3. To provide material assistance (equipment, tools, labor) to achieve real-world results in the performing arts and environmental spaces.

Since its founding in 1994 and until the company was sold in 2018, Michael Reed and the team at Reed Rigging have donated time and production equipment to dozens of organizations in memory of Victoria “Tory” Odum-Reed.

The AIDS Memorial Quilt, Dance for Life, The Ruth Page Center for the Performing Arts, and A Concert for Charlottesville are just a few of the organizations and events that have received assistance.

That tradition of giving continues today with the creation of The Tory Touch. The Tory Touch awards five yearly grants* to individuals and organizations with goal of fostering artistic growth and environmental awareness.

*At this time, grants awarded by The Tory Touch are by invitation only.
